New Setup. Again :P

my latest setup. hopefully, this would be my final floor plan. the GUILTY typo at the other end of the installation art is a sample. haven't finalize that yet. would consider changing it to "TRAPPED" or to something similar to it.

Video Shooting

we did some shootings the other day at BB walk and i think it went pretty well. i think :P anyway, my talent had to stand still in the rain for like 20 minutes to get the shot that i wanted. so thanks a lot to him! :D anyway, i wont be able to upload any of the footage yet since i have not render it yet. the file is quite big. anyway, here are some photos and short making-of-video.

Sample Poster #1

this is my 1st poster design sample for my installation art. since my installation art is about the causes of people resorting to cannabis in order to find an easier way out, i think it would be better to incorporate a cannabis logo into it. the idea is to have an image collage of people being depress, sad, drug addicts and design the arrangement to fit into a cannabis logo. here is how it looks like.

i haven't think about what kind of typo to use for this poster. so i'll update any new progress regarding it as soon as i get done.

New setup

The floor plan for my installation has been changed due to the changes that i've made in part 1 and part 2 of my installation. as u can see right now there are only 2 components in my installation. the 1st one being the chest and the 2nd one,the screen which is mount on a wall divider. the reason why i placed the screen to face outside my installation is to make sure that the audiences at the 1st part of the installation does not know that their action of smoking the bong will be captured by the webcam and presented to the rest of the visitors. further more, by doing so, other people are able to browse through the pictures taken by the webcam inside the chest while they wait for their turn to enter the installation.







And this is my new design for the chest where i've integrate part 1 and 2 in it. part 1 being the screen which is placed inside the chest and part 2, the audios coming from a speaker underneath the screen.



The videos for part 1 of my installation will be activated once the chest is open by the audiences. after they had finished watching it, they would find a bong under an enclosed compartment and decide whether to smoke it or not.

More changes and modifications :P

After considering some suggestions given by mr bad and mr kok yoong in today's class, i've decided to combine part 1 and part 2 of my installation into part 3(the chest). by doing so, audiences will be able to focus more of their attention into a single component without losing any interest or connection compared to the previous idea. further more, it'll help me save more time and energy as i would only have to work on a single and compact structure which in this case is the chest. however, the task of combining part 1,2 and 3 into a single structure would be more challenging since i have to integrate an lcd screen and speakers into the chest.

So, the 1st thing that i shall do after finishing with all the shootings is to find an lcd screen which is large enough for the audiences to watch the videos. after acquiring the lcd screen, the next step would be getting a chest that is suitable for the lcd screen as well as the bong. otherwise i would just have to design my chest which i think would take some time to finish it.
