The Joint is an installation project that delivers a message to the audiences about the effects of cannabis smoking on the psychological mind of an individual by using multiple interactive multimedia elements such as sound and images.
The main reason for this installation is to create some awareness about the impact that it does not to the body but to the psychological mind of users. Cannabis is the most common and widely used drug amongst teenagers and young adults. By doing this topic, users can gain some insight and understanding about the effects of drug abuse in a whole different way.
The installation starts off when the users open a closed “treasure chest” at the beginning. Once the chest is opened, a video will start to play on the LCD screen in it and explains to the audiences about being in the shoe of someone who is depress and sad. At the end of the video, the users are instructed to open the compartment next the LCD. They will find a bong in it and will have to make a choice on whether to smoke it or not. If they choose to smoke the bong, then a picture of them will be taken and sent to the final part of the installation where they can see their photos and other users who have used the bong before them and check out a message at back of their photos.
